Monica Queen was proclaimed one of the " greatest ever voices to come out of Scotland " by Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol when she duetted with him at Bellahouston park. She is well known for duets and collaborations with the likes of Chris Coco, Chris Connolly etc and of course is the voice of Belle and Sebastian's "Lazy Line Painter Jane". She came to fame in the 90’s with her seminal band Thrum who famously appeared on the cult show "The Word " but has made a number of beautiful solo records since with her producer Johnny Smillie including last year's collection of classic pop songs "Stop That Girl". She performs regularly as a duo with Johnny as Tenement & Temple but also under her own name with her fantastic band.
