Blue Violet are alternative indie duo Sarah McGrigor & Sam Gotley. Their debut album ‘Late Night Calls’ was released April 29th 2022, produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi). Debut single ‘Undercover’ was BBC Radio Scotland’s record of the week, shortly before the band guest session'ed on the station. Follow-up ‘White Beaches’ was picked up by John Kennedy on Radio X & Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music who described them as ‘… a cocktail of Iain Banks and Jane Austen’.
Recently the band were asked to perform a duet with The Gaslight Anthem at the Camden Roundhouse and supported Kula Shaker, Tide Lines and the Last Internationale on their UK tours. Their forthcoming sophomore album, recorded in Bristol’s J&J studios with Bat For Lashes and Hannah Peel producer TJ Allen, explores rich electronic avenues and is a unified and sophisticated update of modern British alt pop, drifting from sizzling space disco to stunning, swirling cinematic vistas.
