“CHARLOTTE” may sound ordinary, but she’s far from it. A 21-year-old from Hull in East Yorkshire, she redefines the meaning of soul music with her own modern, accessible twist.
As a child, her grandparents’ music room was her secret world. At age 7, she was writing songs influenced by soul classics such as Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin. By 11, she was in a choir called Voice In A Million, performing at venues like The O2 and Wembley Arena. Music became her haven after moving to Singapore at the age of 14
After two years away, Charlotte was back home and, since then, has been focused on song writing, at home sitting at her Grandparents’ piano at first and then working with writers and musicians in as many sessions as she could bag here in London or Los Angeles
Charlotte has written and recorded with too many amazingly creative people to list but here’s a few Toby Gad (Beyonce ‘If I Were A Boy’), Stint (Gallant ‘Weight in Gold’), Chris Braide (Sia & Lana Del Ray), Jamie Scott (Rag N Bone Man, Nial Horan), Jarami (Frank Ocean), Eg White (Adele), Grey (Maren Morris ‘The Middle,’ Hailee Steinfield ’Starving’), Jeff + Dayyon (Demi Lovato), and more!
At the end of 2018, Charlotte started to construct her first EP “Nowhere to Hide” (which is out now), working with world renowned producers Toby Gad and The Orphanage (Kehlani, Alessia Cara, Demi Lovato)
The ‘Nowhere To Hide’ EP was released at various points across the year - starting with ‘I Tell Lies’ which was released on her 21st birthday! How poetic ...
By Christmas 2019, Charlotte will have done 110 gigs across the UK & Europe - plus a few showcases in LA - starting the beginnings of a global fanbase. That’s roughly 1 show every 3 days!
There’s been support shows with JC Stewart, Jess Glynne, Picture This and Lewis Capaldi to name just a few - and festivals too - Barn On The Farm, 110 Above and a coveted slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds
If Charlotte’s not on the road, she’s in the studio writing - working in sessions in both London & LA ... in 2020, she’ll be off to write in Atlanta and Nashville
Charlotte’s been written about and supported by BBC Introducing, Clash, Wonderland, The Sunday Times Culture, Pop Matters, Euphoria Magazine, Entertainment Focus, SB:TV, Substream Magazine, and many many more
Summer release 'Nervous', garnered international interest and followings across all platforms. On Spotify specifically, she achieved 8 X NMF playlists including the U.K., Germany, & Switzerland and she hit the Viral 50 in both Ireland & the UK
Charlotte released the stunningly beautiful, stand alone single ‘All My Life’ on 8 November - again, picking up healthy support from YT, Deezer, Spotify and Apple Music
Charlotte will release her second EP 'Learning From My Losses' in early 2020 before moving on to her debut album ...
Please meet CHARLOTTE ….
