DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 was started in 2001 by Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger in the basement of an old funeral home. Initially conceived as the rhythm section for a bigger project, the bass and drums punks soon realized that they had everything they needed to rule.
Audiences agreed as the band began compulsively traveling around the world, supporting their debt LP You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine (2004). By 2005, the fire became too hot and the band exploded spreading its cultish shrapnel through space and time until 2011, when after meeting at their old haunt, the two decided to give it another red hot go. The first time they played a note together in six years a riot broke out. A month later they were playing the main stage at Coachella. Over the next ten years they released three more LPs, The Physical World (2014), Outrage! Is Now (2017) and Is 4 Lovers (2021). From sweaty basements to the highest stages in the world DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 continue create a sound that is completely unrivaled. Iconoclastic. Everlasting.
