Dutch Wine are a Glasgow based alt-rock outfit, toeing the line between grunge-fuelled rock, sentimental indie melodies, and atmospheric shoegaze anthems. Built on the foundations of a completely DIY aesthetic, all the band’s music is written and produced collaboratively, with drummer Luc Grindle on engineering and mixing duties.

Finding their feet over the last couple years through their own independent releases and emphatic live shows has amounted to numerous accolades, including a nomination for BBC Introducing Act of the Year 2024, Best Rock/Alternative Act at the SAMA’s (Scottish Alternative Music Awards) and being listed on Vic Galloway’s Ones To Watch 2023.
Their high-octane and energetic capabilities are no less present on their newest release ‘Facelift’, described by Tenement TV as “a punchy and lyrically thought-provoking banger”. Singer Calvin Smith speaks to the origins of the song as being “written with a live setting in mind, focusing on the loud-quiet-loud dynamic adopted by a lot of 90’s alternative bands.”
The creative force of Dutch Wine is precise and hard-hitting, never wasting a beat or a breath on anything that doesn’t enhance their sonic landscape.
