Event Info

Fright Years are an Edinburgh based four-piece fusing indie rock and anthemic power pop. Meeting by chance over a double-booked practice room in Edinburgh Art College, vocalist Jules, guitarist Harrison and bassist CJ began developing acoustic bedroom demos. After sharing their early material with drummer Struan, their line up was completed in late 2021.

Fright Years

Fright Years’ debut singles, 'Another Life', 'Every Weekend' and ‘Warning Signs' received support from BBC Introducing, Radio X, Channel 4 and This Feeling. In 2023 the band were tipped as one of This Feeling’s ‘Big in 23’ artists, and saw them play shows and festival stages across the UK including Ynot?, FOCUS Wales and Stag & Dagger.

'Let Me Down' marked the first of three singles embracing a shift towards alternative rock. The Herald placed the track at number 35 in their ‘Top 100 Songs from Scotland in 2023’. Their latest singles ‘Evil’ and ‘Blue’ garnered support from BBC Introducing Scotland, BBC Radio 1, and publications including Clash and The Line of Best Fit, solidifying their upward trajectory and rising reputation as ‘engaging newcomers’ (Clash, 2024) ‘a band to keep an eye on’ (Flex, 2024), ‘names you’ll want to remember’ (Lock, 2024).
