Glaswegian singer-songwriter Matthew Hall has unveiled new single 'Only October', listen here.
'Only October' is the second single to come from the Scottish songwriter, who released his debut original track 'Inconvenient' last month, which soared into hundreds of thousands of streams, appearances on Spotify's New Music Friday around the world and a barrage of radio and press.
Now, Hall is taking things into energy-fuelled territories with 'Only October', showcasing a different side to his sound while still keeping the emotive core to his adept songwriting intact.
Hailing from Glasgow, the 21 year old singer-songwriter studied music at Edinburgh Napier University. During this time Hall started posting guitar covers on TikTok and quickly started gaining traction for his unique and forward thinking take on songs.
Solidifying an international fanbase and catapulting his voice to fame was a cover of ‘Home’ by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Matthew’s version of the track has now had over 33 million streams across Spotify, TikTok and YouTube after going viral.
Now with university on hold and a burgeoning career as an artist underway, Matthew has spent the last year since the release of ‘Home’, honing his craft and working with the aforementioned notable producer and writer Jonah Summerfield (Tom Grennan, Matilda Mann), as well as Rich Cooper (Billie Marten, Cloves) and James Earp (Lewis Capaldi, Maisie Peters) to hone his original sound and music.
With ‘Only October comes the next taste of a wider project, due to land in spring this year.
