2018 has found Rothwell surrounded with hype after her latest releases, Velvet Heart was featured in the hottest TV programme of the year, Love Island. After being played on the show, the track raced into the Top 20 of the iTunes charts and to date has been streamed over half a million times. Support also came from BBC Radio 1’s Adele Roberts who noted that Left Me At The Party was the ‘best new pop’ anthem.
She may only be 23 years old but the Bristol-born singer-songwriter wrote her first song at the age of 12, taught herself guitar and supported herself financially with a string of jobs before enrolling into the College of Music in Leeds. Rothwell uploaded her vocals to YouTube and captured the attention of London’s infamous jazz club Ronnie Scott’s who immediately slid into her DM’s. She has since gone on to play packed out shows at The Garage, Isle of Wight Festival, Latitude Festival, British Summer Time and Kew The Music.
