Event Info

Scotstown Dance Band are an indie-ceilidh outfit from Sunart, in west Lochaber. With an ever rotating line-up, the group's three permanent members are brothers Jacob and Rory Green, the songwriting partnership, and bass player Freddie Patterson. The band began releasing music in January of 2024 with their debut single 'Shawfield Greyhound Stadium' - an original composition about the now derelict dog racing track in Rutherglen. The track was met with intrigue and a favourable reception, gaining healthy airtime across regional and national radio, including the BBC Radio Scotland's 'The Afternoon Show' with Michelle McManus, and Rapal on BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal. Off the back of this release, the band were invited to perform twice at Glasgow King Tut's, opening for The Wakes and Brogeal respectively.

Scotstown Dance Band

A second single, 'Scottish Country Dancing', was released in June. This song is a tribute to the many nights the band have spent at ceilidhs held in their local village halls.

Fusing accordion-driven Scottish traditional music with all their favourite indie band influences, Scotstown Dance Band are really the best of both worlds.
