After a change in band members in June 2024, Arcade State rebranded themselves as The Painting with a new line-up consisting of: Ciaran Murray (Vocals, guitar), Jordan Murray (Drums), Lewis Taylor (Bass guitar), Cammy Roxburgh (Lead guitar), Jonny Emerson (Lead guitar, backing vocals), and Marta Leslie (Keys, backing vocals). Taking inspiration from bands such as The War On Drugs, The XCERTS, and Night Traveller, The Painting released their first EP since therebrand ‘Everything Is Always Going Somewhere’ on the 4th of October 2024. The six track alt rock EP gained thousands of listens on Spotify and lead the band to sell out a double show at The hug and Pint in Glasgow on the 15th of November 2024. The first set of the show consisted of thebands older songs pre rebrand and the second set showcased The Painting’s new EP, selling 240 tickets overall and getting a very positive response from the audience. Going forward The Painting have already started work on a new album, continuing to push their boundaries and experimenting with new sounds to showcase a fresh, unexpected side of the band. Lots to look forward to with exciting new music and more shows to come in 2025.
