Artist Spotlight: Zimmer90

We love how you describe Zimmer90 as more of an art project than a traditional band. Can you share how this vision influences your approach to creating music and performing? 

We get bored very easily when we're getting our inspiration exclusively from music itself. It's a way to keep the project interesting for us.

In our upcoming tour we will probably embed actual paintings in the stage design. Very excited for ideas like this to come true!

We are obsessed with your EP ‘What Love Is’ which was released earlier this year, after 4 years in the making, what inspired you to create this EP and did this inspiration evolve over time? 

We saw it as a collection of chapters. Each song has it's own story and background and when we put them in context it felt like a beautiful EP.

We are hugely inspired by the spaces around us and we often find ourselves working at beautiful and unordinary places like kitchens / museums / trains...

You’ve described your relationship as creative partners, musicians, and friends. What makes creating music with your friends so special?

I think it's just more honest that way. A lot of areas in our lives overlap because of the band so it's hard to hide anything from each other. 

You are quite the viral sensations on social media, with your tracks inspiring over a million creations on TikTok. Did you ever expect to reach such a massive following there? What do you think it takes to create a sound that resonates so widely on platforms like TikTok?

We didn't expect that at all. We just wrote the song in our bedroom because we felt like it. That might be the reason why it resonated with that many people: We didn't construct it to be viral, we just made a song we liked a lot and released it.

You’ve had an incredible year, including a jam-packed 2024 European tour. With your 2025 tour around the corner, what can fans look forward to this time around?

We are gonna bring a lot of new songs to the stage and have worked out a pretty nice stage design. We also love to have a lot of fun jamming and dancing. 

People can expect a special night full of emotions / dancing and fun! 

We can’t wait for your upcoming ‘Far From Home’ tour to come to Glasgow's King Tut's on May 11th. What are you most looking forward to about playing in Glasgow, and how can fans in the city make it feel like home for you?

We opened for Chromeo there in 2024, which was already a great sneak peek. People were so warm-hearted and welcoming once they dug our sound. So we're definitely looking forward to seeing them again! Also the food was very nice haha!
