A Gay and A Nongay Live Podcast show
Award winning podcast 'A Gay and A Nongay' announce new guest for 'The Podcast Tour' Glasgow show at Cottiers on Friday 27th March.
The UK's biggest LGBTQ+ award-winning podcast A Gay and A NonGay are bringing a live version of the much loved show to Glasgow as part of their UK tour.
Born in 2015, A Gay and A NonGay has continued to grow into the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ podcast that it is today. Released weekly, James and Dan dive into conversations around day to day life, differences in perceptions, homophobia, coming out, mental health and lighter topics like dating. Expect audience interaction, a hilarious parody of ‘Queer Eye’ as Dan lends his hetero gaze to the Gay community in ‘Nongay Eye’ and a laugh-out-loud look at issues affecting Gay and NonGay people in an absurdly simple but hilarious premise; what divides us makes us laugh harder.
With press from MTV, The Guardian, Radio Times & Time Out, iTunes & Spotify features in both the UK & USA, plus guests on both BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio Five Live, co-hosts James and Dan regularly hit number one on iTunes sexuality chart. Their weekly podcast recently landed on Virgin Atlantic’s in-flight entertainment system Vera and new episodes are released every Wednesday morning at 6AM (UK time).
Hosts James Barr (gay) and Dan Hudson (nongay) will be joined by fascinating famous guests to add even more sparkle (and nonsparkle) to the occasion. Already announced to join James and Dan on stage in Glasgow is Former Leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Ruth Davidson, who as a leader of a party has had to challenge the views of the most conservative of her colleagues regarding LGBT people.
The hosts are also delighted to announce the addition of Glasgow-based Transgender awareness activist, dedicated charity campaigner and honouree at the 2017 Attitude Pride Awards, Natalie Scott
With plans to cover subjects that range from Davidson’s challenges in rising the ranks within a very “traditional” environment, to challenging her voting record regarding LGBT issues, and speaking to Natalie Scott about her work and activism, and how beating cancer gave her the impetus to reconnect with her then-estranged family; traditionally taboo subjects will be cracked open by honest conversation, A Gay and A NonGay’s live show maintains its mission to promote equality, freedom and friendship whilst making listeners laugh. Sending messages of hope and inclusion through their frank and funny back and forth, James and Dan hope to continue shuffling the world toward a brighter existence.
James and Dan have kissed on the front cover of Attitude magazine, come face to face with gay conversion therapy in Northern Ireland in their three-part acclaimed BBC documentary ‘From Gay to Non-Gay?’, and slayed a smash hit 5-star run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019. James also took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm in 2019 with his solo show Thirst Trap with five-star reviews and much critical acclaim.
